The Ivy League refers to a collegiate athletic conference that sees participation from the sports teams of eight private universities in the Northeastern United States. The conference name is also commonly used to address those eight schools as a group outside the sports context. These eight schools are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University.
